An Official PGA TOUR Event Hosted on Seaside Course
October 15—21, 2012

Congratulations Ben Crane, winner of the 2011 McGladrey Classic! The four-time PGA TOUR winner entered the tournament's final round five shots off the pace and made the turn six back before heating up and charging the leaderboard. Crane birdied eight of his final 11 holes in regulation before two playoff pars netted him a victory over Webb Simpson at The McGladrey Classic.

The third annual McGladrey Classic, a PGA TOUR Fall Series event, will be played on the historic Seaside Course of Sea Island Golf Club, October 15-21,  2012. This event has proven to be a fantastic time for spectators and players as they experience Sea Island's rich history, culture and extraordinary hospitality. 

With the help of tournament host and chairman Davis Love III, the Davis Love Foundation and title sponsor McGladrey, the McGladrey Classic is a hit as it draws one of the strongest fields on the PGA TOUR’s Fall Series schedule.  Many PGA TOUR players who live or train at Sea Island Golf Learning Center, including Davis Love III, Lucas Glover, Jonathan Byrd, Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson, play in this event.

Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia and other local children and family charities will receive the proceeds from this spectacular event.

In the inaugural Classic, Heath Slocum took the championship by one shot with a 266 over Bill Haas, thanks in part to Slocum’s 60-foot putt on the 16th hole. It was his fourth win on the PGA TOUR, taking home $720,000, part of the tournament’s $4 million purse.
